How it works

  1. Where do the clothes come from
  2. You bring them into school
  3. The driver collects your bags
  4. Your clothes are taken to our factory
  5. The clothes are sorted and bagged
  6. The clothes are shipped
  7. and taken to Africa
  8. Thank you!

We are now operating a School Clothing Collection Scheme. This not only reduces the amount of clothes going to landfill sites, it also helps to generate much needed funds for schools.

Working together with Local Councils we are actively trying to encourage more schools to participate.

For reuse we need your:

  • Unwanted clothes
  • Paired Shoes
  • Handbags
  • Blankets
  • Sheets
  • Curtains
  • Soft Toys
  • Books
  • DVDs
  • Mobile Phones

But it's not just schools that can take part: Scouts, Brownies, Guides, Churches, Companies, Football Clubs ...in fact, any group that wants to raise some funds.

Information for teachers

Once a school has registered for the scheme we will agree a collection date for our van to collect.

Stickers will be issued to the school so they can be given to each pupil.

The school will be contacted prior to collection to confirm they are still happy to take part in the scheme.

On the collection day the pupils bring the clothes to school and a Devizes Textiles Ltd van driver will call and collect the clothes.

A payment at the current market value is then calculated and paid by cheque to the school.

Members of the Devizes Team are also available to perform a presentation explaining the processes involved in the collection and export of recycled clothing.

For further information or to register an interest please contact us

Now Devizes can also supply your school with Collection Banks for clothes, shoes and books.

  • Allows your school to collect all year round
  • Reduces storage needed
  • Helps raise more money for your school

What you say about us

Very easy scheme - very little organising. Good way to fundraise as well as supporting recycling
